My journey into public service didn't begin in a political committee room—it started right here in Whatcom County, balancing life as a husband, father of four, small business owner, National Guard soldier, and detective with the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office.

Running for State Representative wasn't a lifelong ambition. It grew out of daily conversations behind the counter of our family laundromat in Ferndale. Listening to neighbors talk about skyrocketing housing costs, rising taxes, and the challenges facing their families made one thing clear: Olympia has lost touch with the everyday realities of Whatcom County. Our community deserves practical problem-solvers who listen first and lead with common sense.

Law Enforcement & Community Safety: As a Whatcom County Sheriff's detective, I see the ground-level impacts of crime, the fentanyl crisis, and behavioral health challenges every day. True compassion means intervening to get people out of harmful situations, restoring accountability, and supporting the first responders who protect our neighborhoods.

Military Service & Leadership: Serving as a soldier in the National Guard taught me the value of discipline, teamwork, and putting mission and community before self.

Small Business Perspective: Operating a local small business in Ferndale means understanding firsthand the burden of excessive regulations, high taxes, and red tape that make it harder for local employers to grow and hire.
